Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup water

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Cooking spray

Instructions

Prepare the Churro Dough: In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour and baking powder until the mixture forms a smooth dough.

Cool the Dough: Let the dough cool for about 10 minutes. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.

Shape the Churros: Transfer the cooled dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Form the Churros: Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper (cut to fit) and spray it lightly with cooking spray. Pipe 4-inch strips of dough directly onto the parchment, making sure to leave enough space between each churro.

Air Fry: Lightly spray the churros with cooking spray. Cook them in the air fryer for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, mix together 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

Coat the Churros: Once cooked, remove the churros from the air fryer and while they are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.

Serve: Enjoy your crispy air fryer light churros warm with a side of chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping!
