Ingredients
  

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Extra herbs for topping (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, and salt until well combined.

      Add the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses into the dry ingredients. Mix until evenly distributed.

        In a separate bowl, combine the milk and melted butter. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.

          Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.

            Roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into strips (about 1 inch wide and 4-6 inches long).

              Place the strips onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each stick.

                Brush the tops of the breadsticks with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Optionally, sprinkle with extra herbs for added flavor.

                  Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and cheese is bubbling.

                    Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your cheesy Italian breadsticks warm!
