Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 for flavor)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1 tablespoon green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)

Sliced cucumbers or spicy kimchi (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sauté Aromatics: Lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant, around 2-3 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, gochujang, and grated ginger until well combined.

Combine: Pour the sauce over the cooked beef mixture. Stir well to coat the beef evenly and let the sauce simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until it slightly thickens.

Assemble the Bowl: In serving bowls, add 1 cup of cooked rice as the base. Top with the spicy ground beef mixture.

Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with sliced cucumbers or spicy kimchi on the side for added freshness and crunch.
