Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup thinly sliced bell peppers (green, red, or a mix)

1 cup thinly sliced onions

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Heat the Olive Oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they soften and start to caramelize. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high, then add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Add Flavor: Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5-10 minutes until the liquid reduces and thickens slightly.

Melt the Cheese: Lower the heat and sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese over the beef mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.

Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then top with the other half.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes!
