Ingredients

1 package of mini cocktail sausages (about 24 sausages)

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: spicy ketchup or honey mustard for dipping

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.

Cut the puff pastry into strips that are about 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long.

In a small bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar cheese and Dijon mustard until well combined.

Place a mini sausage at one end of each pastry strip.

Add about a teaspoon of the cheese mixture on top of the sausage.

Carefully roll the pastry around the sausage, starting at the end where the sausage is, until fully wrapped.

Place the pigs in a blanket seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden color.

Sprinkle sesame seeds over each wrapped sausage for added flavor and texture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before garnishing with chopped parsley.

Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
