Ingredients

2 tablespoons Thai tea leaves

1 cup water

3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

½ cup sweetened condensed milk

½ cup evaporated milk

Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

Boil Water: In a small pot, bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil over medium heat.

Add Tea Leaves: Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and add 2 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves. Stir gently.

Steep Tea: Let the tea leaves steep for about 5 minutes for a stronger flavor. For a milder taste, steep for just 3 minutes.

Strain the Tea: After steeping, strain the tea into a bowl or pitcher using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the tea leaves.

Sweeten: While the tea is still warm, stir in the sugar until completely dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Prepare Milk Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk.

Serve: Fill a glass with ice cubes, pour in the cooled Thai tea until the glass is about ¾ full, then gently float the milk mixture on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon.

Garnish & Enjoy: Stir before drinking and enjoy the creamy, sweet flavors of your homemade Thai tea!
